One of my favourite things about summer is having my morning shower outside.

This year, a huge fennel has self-seeded beside it. Completely the wrong place.

I love it. The bees love it too.

Every morning they’re busy buzzing around it while I’m trying to work out whether I can sneak in for a shower without disturbing anyone.

The sensible thing is probably to move it before it gets any bigger.

But I feel oddly guilty.

It’s a reminder that living alongside nature isn’t always straightforward. Sometimes what’s right for us isn’t necessarily what’s best for the wildlife, and finding the balance can feel surprisingly difficult.

I haven’t quite decided what to do yet...
